May 2022, saw the 5th anniversary of residents moving into Northstowe town and the Heritage Society was delighted to be asked to support their celebrations. In June both Northstowe and Longstanton celebrated the Platinum Jubilee and once again LDHS exhibited a selection of our archives. Both events were well supported and it gave the Heritage Society the chance to meet many local residents from both communities. The interest in the heritage of old Longstanton and RAF Oakington / Oakington Barracks vindicates the position held by LDHS, that the archives are hugely important and will ensure that the three communities of Longstanton, Oakington and Westwick and Northstowe can come together through an understanding of our shared history.
