The LDHS talk on Friday 6 May will be hosted by society member Gordon Hewlett and covers the story of Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor and favourite to Elizabeth 1.

A story of ultimate power and debt in an age epitomised by exploration, politics and religion. The story ends with an introduction into how Sir Christopher’s legacy lives on here in Longstanton.

District District is defined as consisting of Northstowe and the village of Oakington and Westwick. It can also include the area associated with the South West Fen Edge and our local tracks and by-ways, so the interactions between local communities can be properly understood..
