A practical archaeology group covering the villages of Cottenham, Rampton, Willingham, Landbeach and Over.
Although this group covers archaeology of the Fen Edge villages some of their talks and events may be of interest to LDHS members. An appreciation of the fen edge is important if we are to fully understand the histories of Longstanton and Oakington & Westwick. Although not “officially” Fen Edge villages themselves, the close proximity of the fen must have influenced the people and history of these villages.
