Cambridgeshire Collection

The Cambridgshire Collection is based in the Central Library, Cambridge. For over 150 years the collection has accumulated a vast amount of local archival material. LDHS ensures that where possible a copy of new booklets etc. are donated to the Cambridgeshire Collection.

Our default position with the LDHS archives is that in the event that the society ceases to exist then, if the donors have not specified an alternative, our archival material will be placed with the Cambridgeshire Collection for safe-keeping. Since our formation LDHS has clearly stated that we will work alongside the Cambridgeshire Collection and other local professionals to ensure that our archival collections are housed as far as is possible: both safely; securely and in a suitable environment. Full advice will be taken from CC and other local professional bodies before LDHS accepts any building for a heritage centre.
