The Heritage Society is pleased to advise that our work with the Northstowe and Longstanton Heritage Steering Group continues as we look to find ways to display and store the LDHS Archives following the collapse of the Heritage Annex building project. Work also continues to try and ensure that the planned displays from the project can go ahead in some form on the Northstowe site.
In additon to this work LDHS is delighted to be helping residents from across the UK with queries on a number of topics, ranging from family history, house history and even what is going to happen to the height marker at RAF Oakington. We have been in contact with the developer / landowner Homes England who have suggested that this TRIG point is on / near the site of the new Northstowe Civic Hub building which is now under control of SCDC. Homes England have promised to chase the council to determine what their plans are for this important iconic structure.
