With work beginning on the excavation of two massive balancing ponds to the South-West of Longstanton, Northstowe really is becoming a reality for Longstanton village. A rural community for thousands of years, the village being mentioned in Domesday Book (1086), our rural and military histories will certainly disappear before our eyes unless the developers and local government cooperate and establish a heritage centre/ museum as part of this new town development.
