Rev. John Goodchild And His Family

We have kindly been given many photographs of Longstanton and the Goodchild family by Dr Michael Goodchild. The photographs were taken in the years leading up to WW2. Rev. John Goodchild was Rector and Vicar of Longstanton from 1936 until his death in 1944.

His wife, Lillian Clark Goodchild, will also have her own section under village people. Lillian was an artist; daughter and sister of  artists : James Clark R.I. and Cosmo Clark R.A. Lillian painted a number of paintings of Longstanton during her time in the village. The whereabouts of most of the originals is not known but LDHS would love to find out where they are. If you know the whereabouts of  any of Lillian’s original paintings please contact us.
