When researching Cheyney’s Manor House here in Longstanton, a lot of information came from CRO documents relating to a court case involving Rev. Atkins of St. Michael’s church versus Sit Thomas Hatton. Rev. Atkins had taken Sir Thomas Hatton to court accusing him of extending his parkland into St. Michael’s parish: thereby depriving him and his poor parish of the proper tithes. We will load more information on the man and his court case this in due course.
