A historic moment for the new town and Longstanton has arrived with the first house-builder on board for Northstowe Phase 1.
As we stand on the brink of this new town being born, it makes the work of the heritage society all the more important as we seek to preserve the heritage of the site for future generations to learn from and enjoy. We have always said that the heritage of the Northstowe site and its shared history with our local villages will ensure that Northstowe has a unique identity and sense of place. We continue to hope that the developers will help provide a museum so that local residents have a place to come together and learn about their past. This will facilitate the social cohesion that is vital for the formation of a strong sense of community.
