Ivan Cooke Collection – date unknown Ivan felt this was taken in 1950’s but I think as it is a colour image it is later than this. It clearly shows the original layout of Manor Farm before the building works of 1989. The pale roof on the rear range corresponds with the 15th Century Medieval Manor inside. Note how this house and farm were effectively in the paddock in 1989. Why VCH missed this house and failed to identify it as a potential Medieval Manor house site remains a mystery. If they had taken a walk on the footpath that runs through the paddock they could not have missed it.

Longstanton and District
District District is defined as consisting of Northstowe and the village of Oakington and Westwick. It can also include the area associated with the South West Fen Edge and our local tracks and by-ways, so the interactions between local communities can be properly understood..
