A local history society set up by residents of Oakington & Westwick in the latter half of 2007.
A ” hands-on” organisation they organise local archaeological excavations of the village and some members are currently building a life-sized replica of the Oakington Plane. LDHS hopes that, by providing an understanding on aspects of our shared history, a more complete picture of our village histories can recorded for future generations. In addition, LDHS is committed to its aim of establishing a heritage facility as part of the Northstowe development, where the shared history of our parishes may be displayed.
