We are delighted to report recent donations that have been sent from LDHS members in both the USA and Ireland. One donation has been made to support the work of LDHS, whilst the other has been made directly to support the work of Friends of All Saints’ church, Longstanton. The donor who lives in the USA wrote:
” Thank you for your efforts on behalf of us who are far away, but recognize and celebrate their family roots in Cambs and Longstanton.” He continues by saying: ” I do want to support the maintenance of the church as that is an extraordinarily important physical symbol of my family’s heritage.”
We are most grateful to the donors for their kind generosity, and to all our members, for their interest in supporting the heritage of Longstanton & District. LDHS was launched so that a world-wide interest in our heritage could be generated. These donations confirm that there is an interest in protecting our heritage; whether churches, RAF/Army history, archaeology or landscape features, for future generations.
