The following PDF is the LDHS update for the Longstanton Life (April/May Edition). We use the Longstanton Life (and the Oakington & Westwick magazine when appropriate) to bring news and information to all local residents – not just our members. This policy ensures that we are an open and informative organisation fully accessible to all; including those who may not have access to a computer.

On Friday Andrew Lansley, local MP and Shadow Health Secretary, came to visit Hilary Stroude and the Longstanton Conservation Area. Andrew Lansley viewed the entire conservation area and seemed to appreciate its historic and environmental importance. He appeared to understand that proper preservation of the conservation area could provide real benefits to the new town of Northstowe. LDHS is most grateful to Andrew Lansley, and his guests, for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit Longstanton and listen to our concerns.
Although no guarantees have been given by either Andrew Lansley, or Terry Fuller (HCA), it is a comfort to know that they have seen the conservation area and have listened to our views. Once again, we offer them both our thanks and hope that we may have further discussions with them on heritage protection and the establishment of a heritage facility as part of the Northstowe development.
