Ivan Cooke Collection – 1950’s
Ivan was given this photograph. It shows men and horses at work on Manor Farm in the 1950’s. The man in the centre is George Law farm foreman at this time for Jack Jones or his father? Harvest would have to wait until the contractor came with his machine. The contractor’s name can be seen on the machine. I am not sure what it is called at this stage. It was these horse photos and Ivan Cooke’s Manor Farm photos in general which inspired me to start the Longstanton Archive. These photographs were just too important to allow them to be lost when Ivan Cooke (who lives in Willingham) died.
