Hilary Stroude Collection – 2005
Footings of old buildings at the east end of The Manor. As there are different alignments I think some of these buildings are of differing dates. Currently these footings remain below the grass. It is good because they protect what could be older archaeology underneath. However, it looks awful in summer as we get a very clear drought marks on the grass.
These footings were exposed because a stump left by the builders in 1989 (adjacent to the east and front range of The Manor) developed Honey Fungus. Neil Stroude removed as much soil as he could and replaced it with spoil from Home Farm Development.
