Old Smithy
The original blacksmith’s shop was located opposite All Saints’ church; in front of where the old bus stop is now. The road from Girton – Longstanton was the main route through the village and it had to bend around the old blacksmith forge. Eventually sometime after 1936 this bend was straightened out and we are left with the junction we have today. The site of the old forge can still be seen as a dip in the grass verge.
