H B Stroude Collection
The old dairy which was site in Home Farm yard next to the High Street opposite Brookfield Drive. Home farm yard lay approximately where the road to Nelson Crescent is today. The house stood in the clear area on the new village green surrounded by trees. The trees had been in the garden of the house with the laurel/bay ? standing just in front and to the right of the house. The photograph above shows a German film crew who were making a documentary. Harold B Stroude is the middle son of H K Stroude and one of Peter Stroude’s older brothers. He farms at barcombe in East Sussex and he had never looked at these photographs since leaving Longstanton. Without the Longstanton Archive and then LDHS many photographs like the above would have been lost forever.
