Archeology on Old Farm bypass line. Bronze age (3000 yr old ladder) found in situ. The old wells would have had a number of ladders placed at different depths. In the summer a long ladder would have been required than in the winter. (I think that the knotches cut in the length are in fact the “steps” but I may be wrong.)
