Hilary Stroude Collection – Oct 2005
Waiting for the blast! Fed-up residents wait outside The Dale for the unexploded bomb to be detonated. When it came it was very disappointing – mainly just a puff of black smoke opposite and a little noise. The planning and Health and safety overdrive had obviously worked! What was interesting was that the birds at All Saints’ church flew up from the trees just before we heard or saw the explosion.
